Alejandra Jimenez gets the Majority Decision win in a hard fought heavyweight showdown with Martha Salazar to gain the WBC title on her home soil on Friday at the  Oasis Arena Grand Hotel Oasis Cancun in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Jimenez becomes the first Mexican fighter to win the WBC world heavyweight title.

“La Tigre” Jimenez improves to 6-0, with 4 KOs in the first WBC Heavyweight Championship bout in Mexico.

“The Shadow” Salazar loses her strap and drops to 13-5, with 3 KOs in the bout that seemed to be hers, leaving Jimenez’s left eye bruised and nearly swollen shut.

Official scores: 95-95, 96-94, 98-93 for Jimenez
