WBO Featherweight Champion, Amanda Serrano (29-1-1, 22 KOs), and her Hungarian challenger, Alexandra Lazar (8-1, 2 KOs) made weight for their bout for the vacant WBO World Super Bantamweight Title.

Official Weights:
Serrano – 122 lb.
Lazar – 120 lb.

The bout will be televised internationally, from the WBO ‘s 29th Annual Convention in Puerto Rico as a feature of “Night of Champions – DIRECTV” broadcasted live and exclusively on DIRECTV Channel 161 at 9:00pm ET. The show is presented by Universal Promotions.

Serrano attempts to become the first female Puerto Rican boxer to claim World Titles in 4 different divisions, second one to accomplish the feat behind the first male – Miguel Cotto. Her World Title collection includes: Super Featherweight – IBF; Featherweight – WBO, UBF, WIBA; Lightweight – WBO.

Lazar, whom claimed the WBC Youth Bantamweight title in April, hopes to have her first major title belt affixed around her waste tonight. Her only blemish was in November at the hands of Karine Rinaldo as she was vying for the WBF Super Bantamweight crown.

Can Lazar hold up to the power of Serrano, who destroys pretty much everyone who steps inside the ropes with her?

Or, is this just another walk in the park for “The Real Deal” Serrano?

If successful, what is Serrano’s next move? Jump back to Featherweight and face the interested party of Jelena Mrdjenovich? That matchup is looking glorious!
