Arely “Ametralladora (Machine Gun)” Mucino (26-3-2, 10 KOs) gets the edge over countrywoman Monserrat Alarcon (10-4-2) on Saturday evening at the Gimnasio Usos Múltiples UdeG in Guadalajara, Mexico to finally claim the WBO Flyweight Championship.

In her first defense of the WBO strap, Alarcon thought she did enough to retain the belt.

Official Scores: 98-92, 99-91, 95-95; giving Mucino the Majority Decision victory and the WBO Championship.

The show was presented by Zanfer Promotion.

Mucino becomes the first Mexican boxer to win championships from the four major sanctioning bodies. Mucino claiming the IBF Flyweight title in 2011, WBA Flyweight title in 2012, WBC flyweight crown in 2014, and now the WBO crown.

Not since Melissa McMorrow in 2013 has anyone been able to successfully defend this WBO Flyweight Championship. The belt may be cursed. Will “Machine Gun” Mucino be able to hold onto it?
