August’s Boxer of the Month brought about astronomical numbers in votes by participants and total quantity. This month’s poll included two of the highest personal totals in the poll’s history.

I, as well as the entire Ringside Biz Network, are pleased to announce that US Boxing’s First Olympic Medalist, Marlen Esparza, has completely dominated the August Boxer of the Month Poll in victory.

Esparza has already made a positive marketing and sports movement in the sport, especially on the female gender side of the sport. Esparza seems posed to become the next front woman of the sport going forward, even though she plans to stay amateur at least through the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics versus going professional and reaping the endorsement and purse benefits.

Esparza was matched up in the Boxer of the Month poll with her fellow US Boxing Olympic teammate and medalist, world champion boxers, as well as high profile up and comers.

Ringside Biz could not go without giving mad props to out second highest vote getting in BotM history, US Boxing’s First Gold Medalist, Claressa Shields (pictured at left, along with Esparza, from London 2012). Shields, still a teenager, has a lot to look up to and continue to grow as an athlete with a bright future in the sport. We look forward to watching and promoting her continued success in the sport along with Esparza

One thing I want to point out is that the Champ proved a huge point on how self-promotion should be done. She constantly and relentlessly promoted the poll to gain un-achievable votes with the use of social media all the way through the final hours of the poll. Her Tweets and Facebook posts were Retweeted, Liked, Commented on, Shared in ginormous quantities.

Final Results:

Congratulation to Marlen Esparza and Claressa Shields on their success in London and as Boxers of the Month!

Thanks to all the fans who voted. Make sure you do not miss out on the voting next month.
