Eleven WBA Championship fights in October

October will be a month of action for the World Boxing Association (WBA). Eleven championship fights will spread around the world in the best and most prominent boxing rings, during a period that promises to be very successful.

The 14th will be one of the most interesting days. The Featherweight elite will meet in Carson, California, in two fights that are predicted to be wars with a Mexican presence. Leo Santa Cruz will defend his WBA Super Championship at 126 pounds against Chris Avalos, while Abner Mares will expose his crown against Andres Gutierrez that evening.
