Hannah Rankin (5-1, 1 KO) is very pleased to have dominated a tough 10-Rounds to claim the WBC Silver title in front of her homeland Scotland fans on Saturday on MTK Scotland’s show.

Finland’s Sanna Turunen (4-1-1, 1 KO) stood tough and kept on banging for the full 20-minutes of action, making Rankin earn this championship.

Official Scores: 100-90, 99-91, 100-91

As normal, in early career bouts, there is stuff to work on. Rankin acknowledged that the match was fought well but not perfect. It is good to see a non-self-absorbed champion.

Being a Super Welterweight boxer, Rankin is open to compete in both divisions, “Depends on where the fights are. Being a girl, you can go between the weights. Lots of girls go through the weights because there just is not enough of us. So if a Middleweight fight cam up, I’d take that fight. But obviously, I would like to fight at Super Welterweight again. It;s my weight class. I like it there. I am up for anything.”
