Ibeth Zamora Rocks Nina Stojanovic with 3rd Round TKO Win on Saturday

RIBCAGE RATTLE FROM “ROCA”

Ibeth “Roca” Zamora proved her phenomenal body punching power, at the Municipality Gym of Torreon as she hammered, pummelled, pounded and confounded Serbian, Nina Stojanovic, successfully defending her WBC female light flyweight crown for the eighth time, with a crushing third round TKO.

The gulf of experience difference between the two, can be clearly seen in Ibeth´s record (27-5, 12 KO’s) compared to that of fledgling Nina (9-0, 3 KO’s) who got her wings clipped plus her undercarriage dented, and with it, her undefeated double handful of victories, became a becalmed a busted flush.

The first round was fairly quiet, which is normally an ominous sign with Roca. A long right hand snapped Roca`s head back in round two, so she decided to swoop and this meant stoop for the Serbian. A series of thudding punches to the ribcage signatured with an especially checking, eye watering left hook to the liver, doubled up Nina, who sagged and dropped limply to the canvass. Ashen pale she very bravely got up, was clobbered to the head, but the sweet sound of the bell chimed, just before even more significant damage could be inflicted. Her breathing rather than her own punches was rasping in short painful punctuated bursts.

At the start of the third, a short laser guided right hook landed hard on the side of Nina`s face. Knowing rather than sensing the end was nigh, Roca then left fly with a barrage of rib ticklers which mirthlessly found the target and she methodically moved upstairs to wallop the head. Nina`s senses dulled, she wilted and dropped her hands, unwittingly leaving herself as a wide open target. Referee Jesus Becerra, immediately moved in and collected the almost prone Nina in his arms, half carrying her back to the corner, where she initially gasped for air like a fish out of water. Yet no complaining or carping…even of the golden variety!

The demolition was completed at one minute seventeen seconds of round three. Flushed with triumph, Roca donned a pink World Boxing Council tee-shirt provided by WBC Supervisor Tito Gonzalez Rodriguez. On she marches in the increasingly gripping WBC light flyweight Diamond Contest.
