14724505_10100438495548834_3640504134891255914_nJennifer Han (15-3-1, 1 KO), of El Paso, TX, put on a skills clinic in front of her hometown fans at Don Haskins Convention Center on Saturday Night with a near shut out Unanimous Decision IBF Featherweight Championship Defense over Lilian Martinez (20-16, 12 KOs) of the Dominican Republic on Saturday evening.

From the opening bell, Han controlled the pace of action with movement and strategic combinations. Her jab was clearly more effective in positioning and setup.

Martinez struggled getting in tight to neutralize, but was able to finally land some some significant shots in the 5th Round.

El Paso’s hometown hero kept the constant movement around the ring, giving only slight opportunities for the challenger to slip in with her sound right hand.

While both women came in prepared for maybe 15 rounds, they maintained stamina and steadiness throughout.

After 10 rounds of chanpionship action, Han stood clear of threatening advances and poppped her shots to victory.

Official scores: 100-90, 99-91, 98-92 all for Han.

This wins was her second successful defense of her IBF crown after claiming the vacant title in September of 2015 with a Unanimous Decision win over Helen Joseph.
