Katie Taylor (7-0, 4 KOs) crushes former champion Anahi Sanchez (17-3, 9 KOs), of Argentina, to claim her first professional world title, the WBA Lightweight Championship.

Sanchez was unable to defend her title, since she struggled making the 135 lb limit, hence the belt was only available for Taylor on Saturday.

The Irish phenom came out cracking, as she has since the decision to turn professional, pounding away with her quick hands. The stiff jabs, left and right hooks, and constant pressure overcame the visiting former champion.

A fierce left to the body by Taylor put Sanchez to the canvas for the only knockdown of the contest that featured the dominating skills of Taylor.

Taylor was sharp from the opening bell through the 10 rounds of championship action.

Official Scores: 99-90, 99-90, 99-90

Taylor will make her first defense of her strap in the UK on December 15th before possibly defending it in her home country early in the new year. Who will be the next victim?
