fisherOn the undercard of PBC on NBC – Fonfara vs. Smith from the UIC Pavilion in Chicago on Saturday evening, the upsets started from the opening match as visiting Lightweight Katonya “Tony” Fisher (1-0) played the spoiler.

In front of Jessica McCaskill’s (1-1, 1 KO) hometown crowd, Fisher dropped her in the 2nd Round in a strategic exchange. McCaskill backed her opponent in the neutral corner only to be spun and sent to the canvas with a flurry.

McCaskill was the aggressor from the opening bell of this slugfest, coming forward at the steady, yet mobile Fisher.

Fisher showed some quick movement to avoid many onslaughts, while mixing in some rapid and powerful counter-punches. Her power-punches showed their affects on her opponent.

McCaskill kept it even throughout the four rounds of action, but could not even the playing field following the knockdown.

In the end, Fisher’s fist was raised in victory with the split decision win. Official Scores: 38-37, 37-38, 38-37.

Welcome to the professional ranks, Tony Fisher!
