WBC HeavyWeight Champion Martha “The Shadow” Salazar (13-4 , 3 kos) will be defending her WBC HeavyWeight title against Mexican’s own Alejandra “La Tigre” Jimenez (5-0 , 4 kos) at the Oasis Arena in Cancun, Quintana Roo March 18th on Golden Boy Promotions, Cancun boxing and Boxing Time Promotions.

Martha Salazar was offered this fight at the WBC convention that both Martha and her Manager Blanca Gutierrez attended in Tijuana Mexico January 27th. “When the fight was offered to us we jumped at the chance to fight in Mexico. I have always wanted to fight in Mexico. At the NABF Convention in San Francisco last year, we met with WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman and asked him if he could make it happen. I am so excited for this opportunity to defend my title,” says Martha Salazar.

Salazar was born in Ocotlan, Jalisco Mexico and moved to United States when she was 9 years old. Salazar trains at Babyface Boxing in Pacifica, California and resides in San Jose. Salazar and Jimenez will be making history in Mexico as Martha returns to her native country to put her title on the line. This will be the first time a Women’s WBC HeavyWeight Female title fight will be in Mexico.
