mcgeeIt has been nearly two years since Mary “Merciless” McGee has been inside the ropes. The birth of her son and motherhood  have taken priority of the last couple years. But the time has come for McGee to go after her dreams and attain the gold and glory.

On Saturday night, McGee proclaimed, “I’M BACK!” in her return to professional action in Hammond, IN on Derrick Findley’s DM Fight Promotions card in front of her huge Chicagoland following.

Facing Davrene J. (DJ) Morrison of Denver, CO, McGee put in the work and showed that she is serious about her goals.

Stiff jabs, short combinations, pressing straight rights commanded the action of the four round return bout.

McGee stalked and battered her opponent for full 8 minutes en route to an Unanimous Decision victory.

Scores: 40-36, 40-36, 40-36

With the win, McGee’s record moves up to 22-3, 11 KOs.

We spoke to McGee to discuss the match, the future, and touched on the coming UFC bout between Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm, since Holm’s last bout in boxing was opposite McGee.
