Micki Nieslen (17-0, 12 KOs) will defend his WBC International title against Junior Anthony Wright (13-0-1, 11 KOs) on May 2 at the Frederiksberg-Hallerne in Copenhagen. Wright replaces Felix Cora Jr. (25-6-2, 14 KOs) who withdrew from a scheduled bout with the Danish cruiserweight.

The American challenger represents a tough test for Nielsen’s first championship defence. Promoted by professional boxer Dmitriy Salita, the Illinois-native is undefeated in fourteen professional contests and boasts an impressive 78.5% knockout ratio. Despite his opponent’s pedigree, the 22 year-old champion remains confident of victory.

‘’It doesn’t matter who is put in front of me,’’ said the defiant Dane. ‘’No one is taking this title away from me. I’m ready and willing to fight anyone. Line them up and I will knock them out!

‘’Like me Wright is undefeated but unlike me he will taste defeat on May 2. He’s a good boxer and I’m sure he will come to fight, but there’s only going to be one outcome – my hand will be raised and the belt will remain round my waist.’’

Promoter Nisse Sauerland is anticipating an explosive encounter when the undefeated cruiserweights clash in Copenhagen. ‘’There are going to be fireworks in Frederiksberg,’’ declares the Team Sauerland promoter.

‘’Micki and Junior are two young, hungry fighters, both undefeated, both big punchers and both gunning for a world title shot. This fight has all the ingredients of a real barnstormer. It is definitely not one to be missed.’’

Nielsen’s title defence is one of two WBC championship fights taking place on May 2 at the Frederiksberg-Hallerne, as the ‘Swedish Princess’ Klara Svensson (15-0, 5 KOs) challenges Erica Anabella Farias (21-1, 10 KOs) for the WBC Female World Light Welterweight crown.

Team Sauerland presents the ‘Nordic Fight Night – Going For Gold’ on May 2 at the Frederiksberg-Hallerne in Copenhagen, Denmark. All the action will be shown live on Viasat channels across Scandinavia (TV3/ TV3+/ TV3 Sport channels in Denmark, TV10 in Sweden and Viasat 4/ Viasat Sport in Norway). Tickets are available via http://www.billetlugen.dk.
