Petko’s Boxpromotion is bringing one of the biggest boxing matchups back to the Championship Ring with World Ranked #1 Christina Hammer and #2 Kali Reis Rematch on Saturday, November 5th at the Ballhaus Forum in Munich, Bayern, Germany.
It is somewhat rare to see the top two female fighters facing each other with Ring Magazine bringing some of these potential matchups to print recently. #WomenofBoxing addressed it recently, having discussed it with both competitors. The deal was brokered and signed last night.
WBC Middleweight Champion American Reis (10-5-1, 4 KOs) heads overseas, into her opponent’s backyard as she does so often throughout her career) to be the underdog. She will look to recapture the momentum she started in Round 10 of the first matchup with Hammer, being the first one to put her to the canvas. Since that affair, Reis took ownership of two more titles in 2016 – the WBC and UBF championships to her IBA title, while impressing the work by raising her rankings to #2.
Looking to add the WBC belt to her WBO title hold, Kazakhstan-born, Germany-based Hammer (19-0, 9 KOs) is rejuvenated under her new promoter, Alexander Petkovic and his Petko’s LMS Boxpromotion. Since signing with Petko, Hammer made immediate impact in scoring her first KO since 2013 with a 6th-Round Stoppage of Melinda Lazar in July. Hammer has also held the WBF belt as well.
This WBC/WBO Middleweight Unification Rematch is sure to be explosive.
