As part of the Premier Boxing Champions on NBC – Andrzej Fonfara vs. Joe Smith Jr. Showdown show, Jessica McCaskill (1-0, 1 KO) of Chicago, IL squares off opposite Katonya Fisher (debut) of Bakersfield, CA in a 4-Round bout.
This battle of Lightweight prospects is the first bout on a stacked card of nine well-matched bouts concluding the five knockout bouts televised on NBC and NBCSN. McCaskill and Fisher take the ring at 5:30pm CST.
McCaskill made her successfu professional debut in September of last year, an annihilating 2nd Round TKO victory over pro-debuting Tyrea Nicole Duncan following her 3 time Golden Gloves winning amateur career.
Fisher has a long and successful amateur boxing history with many national championship berths and podium positions dating back to her teen years that brought her into the sport. She used boxing as her outlet to her missed youth positive life experiences. Tonight, she brings her gritty, mobile, and power skills to the professional ranks.
Blanca Gutierrez, owner of Babyface Gym, where Fisher trains told #WomenofBoxing, “Tony wants to fight, is hungry and all she does is train”.
This bout is an intriguing one for two strong and thirsty competitors.
