Rose Volante (12-0, 6 KOs) of Sao Paulo, Brazil captures the vacant WBO Lightweight Championship with a Majority Decision win over Brenda Carabajal (13-4-1, 9 KOs) on the road in Argentina.

“The Queen” Volante seemed to control the pace and action, while being the aggressor, stalking Carabajal around the ring continuously.

A right overhand with a following left hook by Volante put Carabajal to the canvas just before the 1st Round bell.

Another overhand right floored Carabajal midway into the 2nd Round.

Despite two earlier knockdowns, the hometown Carabajal was persistent to keeping her golden dream alive.

Volante’s constant pressure and precise jabs and grill rattling rights kept her ahead.

After 20 minutes of pounding action, it was left to the three Argentinian judges who scored the fight a lot closer than anyone else saw it.

Official Scores: 95-93, 94-93, 94-94 making “The Queen” the WBO Lightweight Queen.

The new WBO Champion stated to #WomenofBoxing: “Thank you for the affection of all who accompany my work always encouraging me. God bless everyone’s life.”

Volante has also held the WBC Latino as well as the WIBA International Lightweight Championships.
