From WBC:

NUKI SEEKS TO DEFEAT “BARBY” WITH THE “TOGO” FACTOR

Prior to her July 8th fight in Zapopan, Jalisco, challenging World Boxing Council bantamweight champion Mariana “La Barby” Juarez, Japan’s Terumi Nuki is planning a very special mode of attack strategy.

“Mariana is a great fighter, very popular in Mexico and in many parts of the world. She’s a great champion, but one of her worst defeats was against another Japanese fighter, Ryo Togo. Mariana is strong but not invincible. With all respect, I am training very hard to bring the title to Japan, as I will be the new world champion.”

The audacious and locquacious Japanese boxer has a brief record of 9 wins, 1 defeat and 6 knockouts. This will be her first match outside her country and the first time against a rival of the Americas.

She currently holds OPBF super flyweight belt (Asia Pacific), which she obtained just on April 22nd by knocking out Thai Buasawan Wisetchat.
