12592193_10153918562608894_266395165694656488_n46 year old WBC Heavyweight Champion Martha Salazar (13-4, 3 KOs), of San Francisco, is defending her throne down at the Oasis Arena in Cancun, Mexico on March 18th. This Championship show is presented by Golden Boy Promotions, Cancun Boxing, and Boxing Time Promotions.

This will be the first defense of the champion’s title since Salazar claimed it as the second female heavyweight champ against Tanzee Daniel in November of 2014. Salazar also fought for it in the inaugural WBC Heavyweight Championship in 2007, a decision defeat to Vonda Ward.

In this defense, she will be the visiting boxer, squaring off against unblemished hometown favorite, Alexandra Jimenez (5-0, 4 KOs).

Jimenez destroyed World Champion Challenger Carmen Garcia (10-4, 5 KOs) in her last bout. On November 27, 2015, Jimenez claimed a 2nd Round TKO of Garcia, prompting her championship contention.

Brace yourselves for this hard-hitting battle.
