WBC Super Featherweight Champion Eva Wahlström (21-0-1, 3 KOs) is set to defend her championship belt at home, in Finland, against WBC Silver Champion Melissa St. Vil (10-2-4, 1 KO) of New York.

The championship bout is set as the March 9th feature at Espoon Metro Arena in Espoo, Finland.

Wahlström will make her fourth defense of the WBC crown, since collecting the strap in 2015 and will feel safe having fought all of her professional bouts within Finland’s borders.

St. Vil will be making her furthest trip across the Atlantic Ocean, having fought her last three bouts in her native homeland of Haiti. St. Vil won the Silver Belt in Auckland, New Zealand in 2016 with two defenses (one win, the other an unfortunate draw due to an accidental clash of heads in March of 2017.

The night is labelled as “No Excuses” but the messages between the opponents has been uncommonly respectful. Kudos on the Sportsmanship, Ladies!
