Bosques Suffers Upset at Home

Bantamweight Noemi Bosques (8-2-2, 2 KOs) took defeat in a 6 round entertaining bout in Tampa against Nydia Feliciano (8-6-3, 0 KOs).

Putting up a solid fight, Bosques did not get enough points from the judges. Feliciano earns the split decision victory.

Alcivar Earns Victory Number 8

In New York on the ShoBox Undercard, Patricia Alcivar (8-3-1, 3 KOs) wins a clear one-sided matchup over Peggy Maerz (2-7-1, 0 KOs). Scores: 60-54, 59-55, 59-55.

Rivas Retains her WBC Bantamweight Title

Yazmin Rivas (32-8, 9 KOs) keeps tabs of her WBC crown in a Unanimous Decision win over Celina Salazar (6-2-2, 1 KO) in Mexico. Scores: 100-90. 99-91, 98-92.

Fulioka Snatches up WBC International Title from Juarez

From Mexico, Mariana Juarez (40-8-3, 17 KOs) put her WBC strap on the line against a rebounding Naoko Fujioka (13-1, 6 KOs). Following her championship loss to Susi Kentikian in November (her sole blemish on her record), Fujioka pressed non-stop to get inside and deliver shot inside of the taller Juarez. The inside game seemed to pay off as the judges scored the match a split decision in favor of the challenger. Scores: 97-93, 98-93, 94-96.

WBC Featherweight Champion of the World, Jelena Mrdjenovich (34-9-1, 18 KOs) travels to Panama to defend her crown against Francia Bravo (19-4-2, 3 KOs).
