Saturday evening at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, IN, local favorite amateur warrior Sarah “Savage” French makes her professional debut in a match against a serious opponent on the Hitz Boxing Promotions show.

French, of suburban McHenry, IL, makes the jump to the professional ranks in her own backyard against an opponent that is not the typical B-side opponent.

2-Time Amateur National Champion, Bertha Aracil of Yonkers, NY, makes the trip to Chicago for her third professional match. This will be her 1st time back into the ring following the birth of her son and looking to extend her win streak to 3-0. Those first two wins were via devastating KOs.

Aracil has been ready to step within the ropes at anytime. She was scheduled for a bout last Friday on Uprising Promotions fightcard in Queens, NY but her opponent was forced to withdraw at the last minute due to medical concerns.

Medical are all good for Saturday. Both women are on weight and ready to go at it.

Weights for Saturday’s matchup:
Aracil: 144.8 lbs
French: 146.2 lbs

We have a match!

In discussing coming into a match as the favorite but as the visitor, Aracil stated, “I feel good. I trained hard. I am just ready to go.”

After they weighed in, French was asked about how the height and reach may pose a challenge to her. She responded, “That’s the story of my life [laughing]. That is part of the fighter’s fight. I am going in there and fight Sarah’s fight.”

As Bobby Hitz reiterates: “Boxing… It’s Better Live!” With Aracil’s history of destruction and French’s Savage Tyson-like aggression, this 4-Rounder is definitely one bout to see live!
