From the Gimnasio Municipal “Jose Neri Santos” in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, WBC Super Flyweight Champion, Zulina “La Loba” Muñoz (47-1-2, 28 KOs) put on a skills exhibition in her successful ninth defense of her title. The victim was Argentina’s Vanesa Taborda (8-7-3).

While Taborda has held herself strong in many tough wars, She could not withstand the power of Munoz.

Taborda was sent to the canvas in the opening round with a snapping left hook that opened the up the assault from the champ.

A glimmer of hope for the challenger came in the 3rd Round where an exchange ended with her surprise left hook to the body and left to the head dealt a knockdown to the champion. But Munoz rose quickly to her feet as if it didn’t faze her.

At the opening of the 4th Round, Munoz came with everything. A thunderous right hook upstairs ended the match as Taborda collapsed face first to the canvas. The referee waved off the match as he did not see the challenger recovering from the championship knockdown. The official time of the stoppage was 1:25.

After some attention, Taborda recovered and left the ring under her own power.
