Mikaela Mayer easily defeated Baby Nansen in a six-round unanimous decision on the undercard of Jorge Linares vs. Vasyl Lomachenko Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Mayer (5-0, 3 KO’s), 27, of Los Angeles, knocked Nansen back in the first round with a left hook, and that set the tone for the rest of the fight.

Nansen (6-3-1, 0 KO), who was fighting in the United States for the first time, was never in the fight. Mayer cut the ring off effectively and forced Nansen to fight her fight, knocking her back with a hard right hand in the second round.

In the fourth round, Mayer hurt Nansen with a solid combination, and the 31-year-old New Zealander clinched.

Mayer spent the rest of the fight stalking Nansen, who retreated to survive.
