So what we have here is a potential showdown between two great athletes. In one corner we have the undefeated unified WBA/IBF champion Katie Taylor. In the other corner we have Delfine Persoon the WBC champion with an impressive record of 42 wins and 1 loss. Why isn’t this happening? Is it a matter of big risk, small reward? Today Katie Taylor is one of the biggest names in women’s boxing, she has said repeatedly “I want to be the UNDISPUTED champion “. There are other things to consider here, she may have other things lined up, like having a showdown with Amanda Serrano, which is another exciting fight for the fans… there are many things to factor here boys and girls. Let’s hope the Boxing Gods provide us both of these fights in 2019.
