GYM Promotions adds more women power to a championship packed April 13th when it pits their own Marie Eve DiCaire (14-0) in her first defense of her IBF Super Welterweight Championship at the popular Montreal Casino.
DiCaire collected the belt with a Unanimous Decision triumph over Chris Namus in December.
The champ’s first defense is no easy work, facing multi-time champion and legend Mikaela Lauren (31-5, 13 KOs) of Sweden.
Mikaela has gone to battle with pretty much everyone in professional boxing over the last 10 years, from challenger Szilvia Szabados to P4P Queen Cecilia Brækhus. Klara Swensson, Christina Hammer, Kali Reis, and Cindy Serrano are also former foes as she has held the WBC, UBF, IBO, WIBA titles among others.
Saturday’s championship bout in Quebec is one that flew under the radar but is definitely one to watch!
