From MTK Global:

CAMERON WELCOMES TAYLOR ‘NOISE’

Undefeated lightweight Chantelle Cameron is enjoying the increasing demand for a showdown with world champion Katie Taylor.

Cameron (11-0, 7 KOs) defended her WBC Silver title with a resounding victory over the fearsome Anisha Basheel on the Brentwood #MTKFightNight back in July to become mandatory challenger to the Irish star.

With that display prompting a crescendo of calls for Taylor to put her WBC, IBF, WBO and WBA lightweight crowns on the line, ‘Il Capo’ Cameron is confident the manner of her win over Basheel proves her the primary threat.

Cameron said: “The last time I was out against Basheel, I thought it’d be a lot tougher. I thought she’d catch me and hurt me but it didn’t go as she planned. She hardly hit me!

“That night went really well for me but life since hasn’t changed. I’m just still chasing titles and I want that short at becoming world champion. Until I get that, life will be the same.

“After that performance, a lot of people saw that I have a bit of everything – I can box or fight and I have speed, power and good footwork. People now know I’m a massive threat to Katie Taylor.

“I’m one of the only females that can beat her and take her belts. It’s good people are talking about it so much because I want that fight to be made. It’d be a shame if it didn’t happen – it’d be great for women’s boxing.”

Taylor added the WBC strap to the IBF, WBO and WBA titles with a controversial majority decision over Delfine Persoon at New York’s Madison Square Garden on June 1.
