The fourteen month wait for the return of WBO Middleweight Champion Christina Hammer is over.

Hammer (18-0, 8 KOs) steps back into the ring tomorrow evening, under Petko’s Boxpromotion’s show at the Ballhaus Forum in Munich, Bayern, Germany.

Across the ring will be Hungarian Melinda Lazar (5-3, 3 KOs) for a scheduled 8-Round non-title contest.

Hammer was last in the ring in May of last year, a successful Unanimous Decision victory over Kali Reis to retain her WBO title.

Lazar is more of a late bloomer, having only turned professional in March of 2015 just before her 41st birthday. In just 16 months, she has pressed forward into 8 challenging bouts that included current Super Welterweight Champion Maria Lindberg and Alicia Napoleon.

Nonetheless, Lazar may be severely out-matched with Hammer. Expect a veteran skills display on Friday.

Petko’s Boxpromotion is already looking to the future with Hammer. A world championship bout is being considered for October.
