Barbara Buttrick won the Women’s World Boxing Championship title at 26 years of age, with a Unanimous Decision victory over American Phyllis Kugler at Municipal Auditorium in San Antonio, Texas, USA. The two previously fought to a Draw on August 31th at Municipal Baseball Stadium in Pompano Beach, Florida
