Citing Hakim Ben Ali’s callup to a shot at the vacant World Boxing Association International Lightweight Championship in the UK, Belgium’s WBC Lightweight Champion Delfine Persoon (40-1, 16 KOs) is stepping into the show spot at Breden in West-Vlaanderen, Belgium on Monday, April 2nd.

As it stands at the moment, her opponent for the 8-Round Lightweight showcase is not disclosed yet.

Persoon needs to stay as active as possible to be prepared for a potential matchup with young Bray Bomber, WBA Lightweight Champion Katie Taylor later in 2018. Taylor faces IBF Champion Victoria Bustos on April 28th in a unification bout in Brooklyn, New York.

June 9th in Eernegem, Belgium, is the tentative next WBC Lightweight Championship defense for Persoon.

Also on the show is young Belgium Lightweight Florence De Coster (1-0) whom just debuted in the professional ranks in November.
