Boxing’s #1 Lightweight Delfine Persoon (40-1, 16 KOs) of Belgium looks to be on a collision course with undefeated WBA Title Holder Katie Taylor (8-0, 4 KOs) of Ireland sometime in the near future.

In a stay busy bout in Moorslede, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium on Saturday, the WBC Champion Persoon put in eight solid rounds against strong Italian Monica Gentili (6-8, 1 KO).

Gentili withstood everything that Persoon through at her with both hands, but could not neutralize against the experienced champion.

Persoon earned the shut out Unanimous Decision nod in the scheduled 8-round matchup.

Official Scores: 80-72, 80-72, 80-71

Next up looks to be a WBC defense in April. Details to come.
