Delfine Persoon made another successful defense of her World Boxing Council female title on Saturday night in Kortrijk, Belgium stopping brave challenger Melissa St Vil.

Persoon, 34, whose record is now 43-1 with 18 wins by knockout, needed six rounds to defeat Melissa St Vil, in an action packed entertaining bout.

St Vil, who from the first round fought bravely looking for the knockout, suffered the first loss of her career by TKO, as she could not Keep fighting in the seventh round.

It is expected that after this triumph, Persoon will face the Irish star Katie Taylor in June, unifying the world female lightweight titles.
