JUST THE RIGHT SPOT FOR “PANTERA” WBC CROWN DEFENCE

PROMOTIONS will present an international card this Saturday, starring “Pantera” at the Municipal Sports Center in the San Fernando, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, televised live for Argentina and much of Latin America via TyC Sports and TyC Sports Play, through the series “Boxeo de Primera”.

In the stellar fight of the night, talented Erica Anabella “Pantera” Farías (23-1-0, 10 KO), will defend her super lightweight World Boxing Council title for the third time. On this occasion against the former IBF Champion, Marisa Gabriel “la Brava” Nuñez (7-6-2).

FARÍAS, was born on July 13, 1984 in San Fernando. She debuted as professional on July 25, 2009, with a unanimous decision victory in four rounds over Betiana Viñas.

Erica then won five victories in a row – one of them against former world champion Maria Maderna – earning her an opportunity to contest the super featherweight South American title in November 2009 defeating Brazilian, Vanessa Guimaraes in less than a round. In the following match, held on May 8, 2010, “Pantera” took over the WBC lightweight world crown by knocking out the then champion. Colombia’s Darys Pardo.

With eight successful defences of the belt, on April 20, 2014 Erica was defeated in Belgium by local heroine Delfine Persoon. However, her march did not halt, as she audacious leapt up into the super light division.

Here, “Pantera” defeated Roxana Laborde in 3 rounds, putting herself in line for a daunting challenge on November 15, 2014 in Cancún, Mexico, dethroning by decision the then WBC super lightweight champion Alejandra ” Locomotora “Oliveras.

Her first defense was on May 2, 2015 in Denmark, beating Klara Svensson, who held the interim belt. In her most recent presentation, on July 30, Erica defended her crown for the second time with a unanimous decision over Victoria Bustos.
