Martinez defended her WBC belt
Guadalupe “Lupita” Martinez, retained her World Boxing Council Super flyweight female Championship defeating challenger Yulihan “Cobrita” Luna by UD, at the Oasis Arena of Cancun, Quintana Roo.
The event was presented by Promociones Zanfer in a Box Azteca 7 telecast for Mexico.The scores of the judges were 97-92, all in favor of Martinez.
The aggressiveness of Lupita (18-9, 6 KO`S) made the difference in the fight. Luna (16-3-1, 2 KO’S ) proved that she is a tough female warrior.
This was the third defense of Martinez’s green and gold belt that conquered last year after defeating the experienced and powerful Zulina Muñoz.
