Costa Rican Hanna Gabriels (17-1-1, 11 KOs) will defend her WBO Junior Middleweight Championship against Dominican Republic’s Oxandia Castillo (16-2-3, 13 KOs) on Friday, October 13th in San Juan, Costa Rica.

In 2013, Castillo crushed Gabriels to take the WBO title via a 2nd Round stoppage in Gabriels homeland. Castillo crushed Gabriels with a 1-2 combination that put the champ to the canvas and was unable to regain composure to continue. This rematch is destined to be explosive.

Castillo is coming into Costa Rica winning 4 of her last 5 bouts, all by KO with the one bout being a Split Draw with Anne Sophie Mathis.

The Champion has been unstoppable against everyone but Castillo, having successfully defended her regained title in 2014 and holding it firm. Her last defense was a dominating performance in May over Natasha Spence.
