“Merciless” Mary McGee (25-3, 13 KOs) put on for her city, of Gary, IN, on Saturday Night as she hit Hungarian Szilvia Szabados (18-15, 9 KOs) with a ton of shots all night long.

McGee is looking in phenomenal shape and tasting gold as she has rejuvenated her career.

Down to 140 lbs, McGee battered Szabados upstairs and to the midsection for the full 6 Rounds of action, slipping and dodging like an 18 years young prospect.

Szabados took shots that knocked her head back and she kept coming right back in on attack. Szabados always comes to fight. Her resume is deep with the sport’s best.

Official scores: 60-54, 60-54, 60-54

With the Unanimous Decision triumph, McGee is shuffling up to the doorstep of a world championship. A Green and Gold belt resides just a few miles away in the Super Lightweight division with WBC Champion Jessica McCaskill (who was in attendance on Saturday for McGee’s win).

The very humble McGee spoke on her vision (and of Team Empire Management) for her near future after her bout.
