Crunch time as Persoon and Taylor hit “The Big Apple”

World Boxing Council female lightweight champion, Belgian Delfine Persoon, is already in New York, as order of the day is fighting Olympic 2012 champion, Irish Katie Taylor.

They clash this Saturday at Madison Square Garden. The 34-year-old Persoon has built and burnished a superb record of 43 wins with 18 knockouts and only one loss. She is WBC champion for five years, making nine successful defenses.

Taylor (13-0 6KOs), 32, won her first world title in just her seventh professional fight.

The attractive combat will be part of the card starring Anthony Joshua and Mexican American Andy Ruiz.
