This past Saturday at the Palazzohalle in the city of Karlsruche, Germany, Jordanian-born Raja Amasheh (21-1-1, 4 KOs) once again became a world champion in outpointing Tamao Ozawa (13-5, 5 KOs) of Japan.

In a very close battle, Amasheh acknowledged that the fight could have gone either way with the decision based on her opponent’s strong skills.

Official Scores: 96-94, 96-94, 96-94 giving Amasheh the vacant WBO Super Lightweight Championship.

Amasheh also holds the WBC Silver Flyweight belt and is a former WBF Flyweight and Super Flyweight World Champion. Her only defeat was in late 2016 at the hands of Mexican multiple time championship challenger Ana Arrazola.

For Ozawa, this was her second world challenge followed by the first in which she lost by split decision to the South Korean Su Yun Hong for vacant WBO Light Flyweight crown last May.
