Local favorite Sarah Curran (2-1), of McHenry, IL, returns to action in a Super Welterweight 4-Rounder with former Nigerian Olympian Edith Ogoke (1-0), now residing in Mableton, GA.

This matchup was proposed at the end of 2017, on the East Coast, but logistics could not be worked out in time. Bobby Hitz and Hitz Boxing made it official with ample camp lengths for both contenders.

Friday’s matchup is a setup bout for CBS Sports Network’s show featuring Mike Lee vs. Jose Hernandez.

Curran has always been looking for solid opposition.

She debuted against undefeated, heavy-hitting Bertha Aracil and is still the only opponent not to eat canvas in the loss. Following that up with a dominating of one of the best female kickboxers in the world, in Amanda Ginski. In her 3rd pro-bout, Curran went savage and handed Jenna Johlin Thompson her first professional loss.

Curran is a Savage Tiger and ready to feast in the top of the Welterweight division.

On Friday night, “The Lioness of the World” Edith Ogoke has other plans in a battle of the squared jungle.

After matchup attempts with Curran, Ashleigh Currie, Samantha Pill in 2017, the southpaw Ogoke finally debuted in February where she chewed up Kiara Marquez for 4 Rounds.

Ogoke has been looking to make the jump from her prolific amateur days, which was highlighted by representing Nigeria in London in 2012, claiming a bronze medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and winnign Gold in African Games in 2015.

There was no hesitation from Team Ogoke to accept this contract as the Lioness wants rule the jungle.

This #WomenofBoxing Prospect Bout should be a good showcase of tomorrow’s contenders as both can bang and bang HARD!
