New World Boxing Federation (WBF) Champions Sarah Bormann and Timo Rost, both from Germany

Outstanding and undefeated German Sarah Bormann is the new World Boxing Federation (WBF) Womens World Light Flyweight Champion after winning the vacant title against former titlist Anne Sophie Da Costa from France on Saturday night, May 4.

On a show promoted by Sauerland Event at the Fraport Arena in Frankfurt, Germany, Bormann put on a wonderful display of boxing as she pitched a shut-out on all three judges cards, winning by scores of 100-90 across the board.

Nicknamed “Babyface”, 29-year-old Bormann improved her unblemished record to 11-0 (7), while Da Costa, also a former WBF World Strawweight Champion besides having held the WBF World Light Flyweight crown, drops to 28-5 (11).

Also in Germany on Saturday night, at the Unihalle in Wuppertal, Timo Rost took home the vacant WBF International Super Middleweight title stopping fellow countryman Sadettin Keser in the fifth round in the main event of a card staged by Fight Club Wuppertal.

It had been an exciting affair for four rounds, with both men having their moments and giving the crowd their moneys worth, before Rost landed a perfect uppercut to end matters in round five. Time of stoppage from referee Thomas Hackenberg was 2:05.

Both men taking part in their first championship contest, Rost (27) is now 7-0-1 (3) in the professional ranks, and Keser (31), coming off four straight victories, falls to 5-3 (2).
