Juárez and Duer expect respect

This Saturday at the Fresnillo Convention Center, Zacatecas, Mexico’s Mariana ‘Barby’ Juárez defends the WBC female bantam title in duel of three-time world champions against ‘La Turca’ Duer of Buenos Aires, in a fight that promises to be electrifying.

The spectacular card presented by Promociones del Pueblo, with the support of Playboy México, will reach millions of homes throughout Mexico through the TUDN signal.

Mariana, champion as flyweight, super flyweight and bantamweight, said: “I am very grateful for the support of women’s boxing, since it is not easy but we have given a very good show and we have earned ourselves the spot as main fighters.”

Duer, from Buenos Aires, said: “There is no doubt that it is a fight that will remain in the history of boxing. As Argentines we have much resemblance to the Mexicans because we fight with the soul, and of course I came here to win. Mariana is very respected because she has earned it, but I don’t work based on her weaknesses but on my strengths. ”

Both fighters passed the weigh in this Friday, tipping 118 lbs.
