WBC Champion Cecilia Brækhus and Challenger Kali Reis Discuss the Importance of Saturday Showdown

A heavy responsibility and challenge for undefeated WBC welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus against former world champion Kali Reis, at the StubHub Center, in Carson City, this Saturday.

This is the first time that a female clash will be broadcasted through HBO

“It’s a very important advance for women’s boxing and I’m very proud to be part of the first women’s fight on HBO, hopefully opening the door for many other women to have this same opportunity in the future,” said Cecilia Braekhus.

“This is a fight to show how exciting women’s boxing is and in Kali Reis I have a strong rival who will look to win, via a war just like I will,” Braekhus added.

Reis stressed: “I am aware of the importance of this fight. I’m totally focused on this, and I come to win because it will be the most important opportunity of my professional career”.
