Yesenia Gomez capital work ethic

World Boxing Council light flyweight champion, Yesenia “La Niña” Gomez is getting ready in Mexico City, in the countdown to defend her 108 pounds belt, on February 16 at the Oasis Hotel Cancun versus Erika Hanawa in the main event o presented by Televisa Deportes.

The 23-year-old stylist who made history by becoming the first Quintana Roo female fighter to conquer a world title; faces a worthy and tough challenge because her rival is already champion of Asia and the Pacific Federation in just thirteen professional matches.

Gómez Vázquez, is training with Rubén Lira in Mexico City in order to compete and complete a successful defense, but also to improve her skills, to be champion for a very long time.

“I am committed to give one hundred percent, to retain the title and to achieve a great performance on home turf, where I won the title and where many fans are with me. We have been working to rectify some mistakes and I think this will be a better fight than the previous one, ” said the young and ambitious champion.

“The Japanese are very strong fighters and an example of this is my rival who always leads and who throw many punches. I`m ready for a ten rounds war, but if the knockout opportunity arrives we will be more than happy to take it.”
