No needle from Taylor in defining the thread of Delfine

World Boxing Council lightweight champion, Belgian Delfine Persoon, aims to unify her crown against 2012 Olympic champion Irish Katie Taylor on June 1 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The 34-year-old Persoon has a record of 43 wins with 18 knockouts and only one loss. She has been champion five outstanding years, making nine successful defenses.

Taylor (13-0 6KOs), 32, won her first world title in just her seventh professional fight. The eagerly anticipated match is on the bill, topped by Anthony Joshua versus Mexican American Andy Ruiz.

This will be the first time that Delfine fights outside of Europe.
