Persoon will defend WBC crown against St. Vil

World Boxing Council female lightweight champion since 2014, Delfine Persoon, 33, will defend her belt for the ninth time against the tough Haitian/ American 35-year-old Melissa St. Vil.

Melissa is a former WBC world champion. She has eleven wins, including one KO, and 3 losses. She lost on April 6 against Eva Wahlstrom of Finland contesting the WBC super featherweight belt.

Persoon has suffered only one defeat in 43 fights and has 17 knockouts.

The champion comes from defending her lightweight title on December 8, beating Kenya’s Judy Waguthii by technical knockout in the tenth round.

This fight will take place on March 9 in Kortrijk, Belgium.
