On Monday in Belgium, former WBC Lightweight Champion Delfine Persoon (44-2, 18 KOs) returned to winning ways and with some hardware after a closely fought Super Featherweight Championship victory over the “Iron Lady” Helen Joseph (17-4-2, 10 KOs).

Persoon dropped down in weight, while Joseph moved up out of her comfort zone.

The weight difference did not seem to bother Joseph, who welted and bruised Persoon with the iron fists.

Returning to action following the June controversial unification bout with Katie Taylor, Persoon seemed to get the hometown generosity from the judges score cards.

Official Scores: 97-93, 97-93, 98-92
