Three days past her 42nd birthday, Marcela “La Tigresa” Acuna celebrates life along with her 48th victory.

In another tough bout, Argentina’s Acuna retained her IBF Super Bantamweight Champion by edging out Venezuela’s WBA Bantamweight Champion, Mayerlin “La Monita” Rivas by Split Decision.

Acuna did not put on her best performance but prevailed on judges scores after a back and forth 10 Rounds of championship action.

Official Scores: 96-94,94-96, 97-93

Acuna also claimed the belt of the Argentine national hero, Martín Miguel de Güemes, created by the Argentina Boxing Federation.

Rivas showed will in Argentina and in the Super Bantamweight Division, but surely she will drop back down and defend her WBA strap with success very soon again.
