Berghult defeats Rankin with Maltese ease

Swedish fighter Patricia Berghult (14-0-0, 3 Ko’s) defeated British Hannah Rankin (8-4-0, 1 Ko) by unanimous decision, conquering the WBC superwelter interim crown, at the Hotel, St Julians in Malta.

Rankin, 29, suffered an early knock down in the first seconds of the fight, but bravely fought on.

The Judges saw a clear victory for Berghult, 25, with scores of 96-93, 94-93 and 95-94.
