From WBC:

“Loba” Muñoz back on to the victory trail

Former WBC super flyweight champion Zulina “La Loba” Muñoz closed a packed year, by defeating Fredee González by UD, in the main event at the Deportivo Leandro Valle in Mexico City.

“Loba” Muñoz secured the victory with a convincing 80-72, 79-73 and 80-72 result. Zulina`s record now stands at: 51-3-2, 29 knockouts. While Gonzalez left the ring with a 6-16-1 record.

From the outset Muñoz was far superior to González, who was repeatedly jolted with combinations.

The hitting frequency and accuracy of “Loba” was much higher and more efficient than her opponent, who unsuccessfully tried to press the former champion. Zulina´s best round was the seventh, in which she moved around the ring, and confidently controlled the action with sharp jabs, following up with snappy well landed combinations.

So Zulina achieved her third win of the year, in exchange for just one defeat, and will hunt down a world title fight next year.
