California’s Ava “Lady of Boxing” Knight (14-2-4, 5 KOs) is finally getting her career back on track, after a failed first attempt to be showcased on Mayweather Promotions card in February.
Having not stepped foot inside a competition ring since her April 2016 victory over Judith Rodriguez in Mexico, Knight is now scheduled for an undisclosed number of rounds matchup with Mayela Perez (19-21-4, 10 KOs) of Mexico on Saturday, April 7th at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The match will be in support of Erislandy Lara vs Jarrett Hurd IBF, IBO, WBA Unification match and IBF Champion Caleb Truax’s first defense and rematch with Jame DeGale.
In contrast to Knight’s last 2 years detail, Perez has been undefeated in her last eight bouts, dating back to June of 2016.
Finally, Knight will put of for her US fans and hopefully stay active and gain the matchups she seeks.
