Experience prevailed in Sweden as Mikaela Lauren (30-5, 13 KOs) won the vacant IBO Super Welterweight championship with a close ten round majority decision over Germany’s Verena Kaiser (10-1, 5 KOs).

The 42-year old Lauren came out firing, taking control early. Lauren struck with her greater range.

Kaiser, sending urgency to stay in the match, found her heavy right hand effective in the fourth and kept the championship close.

Lauren closed out the bout with her experienced skills, in a close finish.

Official Scores: 97-93, 96-94, 95-95 giving Lauren the Majority Decision nod.
